Hello,

My friend recently told me aliens/UFO's if found will be the devil trying to tempt you away from God. I was wondering is this true? Does satan have a rule/influence on the universe as well as the Earth?

Satan's influence

The Bible calls Satan the prince of this world. Because God originally gave dominion of Earth over to man instead of keeping it for Himself, when man chose to believe Satan's word over God's and follow him into the fall, that dominion over earth passed over to the devil.

But, when Jesus came to Earth, Satan's plan was thwarted. He came to take that dominion back from Satan. That is why, once Jesus rose from the dead after the crucification He said, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." (Matthew 28:18)

That is why Satan does not have dominion over born again believers if they know God's promises enough to stand on them and fight against the lies of the devil.

So, I say all of that to say, Satan's main "power" is that of deception. He will deceive us into thinking that we see something that we do not see. Sometimes it may even be something that you do experience in this world that is contrary to God's Word and you have to stand on His word until it goes away. My husband and I have had that happen many times. We would go to the bank account and funds would just randomly be gone. But, we would pray and stand on God's Word, and follow what we felt God telling us to do, and the money would be returned. That has happened in areas of health and many other things here in the physical realm.

I hope that helps to explain how Satan does have a limited ability to manipulate things in the physical realm. Can he cause a UFO to appear? He can sure cause people to think that one has appeared.
