From Ameerah's Heart To Yours:  A short note to you...

Hi <<FIRST_NAME_OF_SUBSCRIBER>>!

If you've been receiving The Hem Devotional for a while, you may notice that I'm sending this issue on a new day of the week - Saturday.  That's because I know how busy we can all get during the week, so I'm trying out a new day to see if that works better for you.  Feel free to respond to this email and tell me what you think!

If you made it to our first Free Reaching for The Hem LIVE TeleClass,  you know that God was really moving!  I received several messages from participants while the class was still in session - It was definitely humbling...

"Sister Ameerah thank you so much!  I think God will use this TeleClass to draw me into a deep, abiding, amazing relationship with Him..."

"Hallelujah - Amen and Amen with all that you have said so far.
I'm blessed - God is so good. Thank you JESUS..."

Our next free TeleClass will be this Thursday, August 7th at 8:30pm Eastern Standard Time.  Now, I call it a TeleClass, but you can actually join in online too, which many people prefer.
If you aren't already registered for our free classes, you can register here!

Looking forward to chatting with you more on Thursday!

God Bless!

P.S.  If you missed our class on Thursday, you don't have to totally miss out.  You can still get a copy of our class, and my personal teaching notes.  And, I'll tell you a little secret...if you enter the word - SeekersSpecial - you'll get a nice discount too... http://archives.School-of-the-Spirit.org

Christian Inspiration and Motivation:

Is Your Mirror Dirty?
A Reflection on How We See Ourselves...

By Ameerah Lewis

Have you ever heard of the term "self-image."  It is a term used to describe the way that we see ourselves.  Not necessarily how we would describe ourself to someone else, but how we really see ourselves.

I was teaching a class the other night, and God put something on my heart that I want to share with you today.  It's about a dangerous mistake that has become all to prevalent...even in the Church.

Let, me explain...

If you were to ask most people who they really were, Christians included, they would begin to rattle off their occupation, their marital status or their education level.  Even worse, many of God's children still identify themselves with their past mistakes - Things that, in God's eyes, don't even exist.

Status, problems and accomplishments: Deep down, those are the things that many think define who we are and what we are worth.  But, is your worth really based on your IQ level or how much you can accomplish in one day?

Even in many churches, your value is determined by the number of committees that you are a part of.  But not, to God.  His love for you isn't based on what you can do for Him - To Him, you are worth so much more !

As someone who has given your life over to Christ, your worth is no longer determined by you, but by Him.

That is one of the reasons why so many Christians are filled with so much anxiety and self-doubt.  They spend much too much time looking at their own insufficiencies instead of looking at Jesus' sufficiency.  They think that they have to EARN their own worthiness.

If we make the transition from being Self-Sufficient to being Christ-Sufficient, we can go from having a Self-image to having a Christ-image.

That means that we can finally look past this temporal world for our answer to the burning question: Who Am I?  We can look outside of ourselves into the eternal realm in Christ and proclaim: Because of Jesus' Sacrifice, I am who God says I am!

And Who Does God Say You Are?
You are a child of God and joint-heir with Christ! (Romans:8:16-17)
You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! (2 Corinthians 5:21)
You are the head and not the tail! (Deuteronomy 28:13)
You are above and not beneath! (Deuteronomy 28:13)

It does not matter what your occupation is - Whether you're a doctor or you're unemployed.  It doesn't matter what your family says about you - Regardless of whether if it's accolades or condemnation.

It only matter's who God says that you are.

Why is it so vital that we base our Self-image on Christ?  Because your job may change.  The opinions of others may change.  But, He will always remain the same!

Change your Self-image to a Christ-image, and see yourself in a whole new Light!

Until next time...God Bless!

Lord, Help Me To See Myself as You See Me!

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  -Romans:8:16-17

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
-2 Corinthians 5:21

And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day and are watchful to do them. -Deuteronomy 28:13 (AMP)
