How to witness to the hungry in our food pantry

I serve in our Church's food pantry. How do I compellingly present Christ to one who is hungry (and may or not be a Christian) as they skeptically look at me as one who can't begin to understand their need,hunger,and fear? How do I get past their physical need to reach their spiritual need... I need scriptures not from the point of blessings I receive or ones telling us to do it, but scripture and suggestions that lets them know help is on the way, and ones offering offer hope they can grasp in the short time I share with them???
