Whenever i have thoughts i tell satan to go to hell. i want to hold a man in my arms and to be held by a man for emotional intimacy not for sex. I want a David and Johnathon type relationship.

Lust in our hearts
by: Ameerah

Hi, Ameerah here from The Hem Bible Studies.

Really, your question is about lust. If we hold lust in our hearts and minds, but don't act upon it, is that ok?

Well, here is where that gets tricky. As humans we always look at the outside and outward actions. But what is God looking at? He is looking at the heart...

?You have heard that it was said, ?You shall not commit adultery.? But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

God also warns us that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. And to therefore guard our hearts with all diligence because out of it flows the issues of life.

When we allow lust to linger in our hearts, we are truly leaving an open door for the enemy. And, eventually he will exploit that opening that we have left.

When we have thoughts like this, God's Word teaches us how to handle them - we must take it captive before it takes us captive. We must grab it in our minds, and cast it ( or force it) out.

But, How do we do this in a practical way? By purposefully and intentionally finding scripture related to the thought and, when it comes back, saying something like, "I rebuke that lustful thought in Jesus' name and cast it out of my mind. I have the mind of Christ and I resist the devil in Jesus name. He must flee from me right now."

Thoughts like these are literally sly crafty attacks from the enemy, Satan. We think these thoughts are our own, so we begin to roll them over and over in our minds until they actually become our own. And then he has us right where he wants us.

Don't fall for the enemy's tricks. Your Heavenly Father promises that if you purposefully resist the devil, he will indeed flee from you. So, don't just passively stand there - RESIST!

God Bless,
Ameerah Lewis
