Prayer and God

I have asked God to help me control my mind, and to change my heart since that is where sin in a person comes from. I however do not see any change in my behavior, more so I seem to be getting worse. I can't sleep anymore, my appetite is gone, and life is looking bleak.

I try what the bible says, forgiving my neighbor before coming to the Lord to get your prayers answered. It's been some months now, and I just simply don't know what to do anymore.
