Just me...

Just me...

Psalm 91 Bible Study by Alice Gregerson.

About me... My name is Alice Marie Gregerson. I live in Michigan with my family. The reason this study appeals to me so much is because my Aunt who recently passed dedicated this scripture to me in a gift of the Amplified Bible she had given me about 10 years ago.

Date of Entry: January 13, 2009

Scripture: Psalm 91

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

My thoughts... This passage is full of God's promises, and after reading it more than once today, I pick out even more promises of his love and protection.

That whatever trial I may face, He will be there to shelter and protect me. He will protect all of us, from harm if we dwell in His home and wrap ourselves in His Salvation.

Questions it brought to my mind...
I feel sometimes that I am unworthy of this protection, and that I may doubt my worthiness.

My closing prayer...
Lord forgive me for doubting your love, and help me to grow in the knowledge your word and teachings bring. Guide me through this day and all the rest of my life in the path you wish me to take. I may stumble, I may fall, but I know that each time I do you will be there to encourage me to go on and keep on track. I ask you to bless those here in this ministry, my friends and family, and keep your light shining down upon them. I ask this in your name. Amen

It's Living Protection NEW
by: Anonymous

I never knew about the Psalm 91 Prayer till a little over 4years ago. I was in a bad relationship and I was newly delivered from a long time drug addiction. My boyfriend at the time was screaming at me and coming at me. I picked up the big family bible I had laying in my living room, opened it up and just started reading out loud the words on the page. He continued to scream at me and was all around me but he never touched me like usual. He finally went to another room and I was able to slip out the front door to a friends house. I told my friend about me reading from the bible still not knowing exactly what I read and she told me about the Psalm 91 prayer. Long story short, I went back home later to discover I had been reading the Psalm 91 prayer the entire time. I still am amazed every time I think about it.

Psalm 91 NEW
by: Katherine G

I love to read Psalm 91. I saw a sign posted in someone's yard close to their home. I now read it as well most(should be at all times) because I want God's Protection and believe on God's promises. There is so much distressing and saddening news on television. Illnesses, violent crimes against families, children, and women etc., But when I read Psalm 91, I am uplifted.
God Bless you all.
