About me: My name is ray trezona I currently reside in Miami Florida. My life took a turn in 2000 when at the end of my Seminary education I was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus. This currently has me on disability but God has opened up a number of blessings through what seemed to be a dead end. I am in the master of Divinity program in Miami through Miami International Seminary. I love teaching but more so showing others how to study Gods Word.
2Ti 2:2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
1Ti 3:1 The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task.
The Master plan of Evangelism is the title of the book by Dr Robert E Coleman first published in 1963 and is still in print today in a second edition. Simply put the Master Plan comes from observing in Scripture Jesus method for bringing people to God.
As Jesus preached to the mass He had a clear cut plan on how reaching the World would be accomplished after He was gone. Jesus method was Men. Jesus chose 12 men and these 12 would be His Apostles(lit sent ones). In His book on page 27 Robert Coleman says:
"It all started by Jesus calling a few men to follow Him. This revealed immediately the direction his evangelistic strategy would take. His concern was not with programs to reach the multitudes, but with men whom the multitudes would follow. Remarkable as it may seem, Jesus started to gather these men before he ever organized an evangelistic campaign or even preached a sermon in public. Men were to be his method of winning the world to God."
I am convinced that this is still Jesus same method and something that still exist today in many ways even if we
don't see it. I am committed to anything that benefits other Christians to become more studied in Gods Word. I teach at a Seminary that is like no other. Miami International Theological Seminary (MINTS) professors travel to foreign lands to teach students in their own culture, in both urban and jungle locations. MINTS’ goal is to provide mentor ship, skills development and contextualization, in order to establish study centers that will grow into indigenous seminaries. Some of us locally have made our homes into study centers. This provides a more Biblical context for discipleship because our home is always open to our students. This is a great venue to learn but not everyone is able to study at seminary level or wants to so what alternatives are there?
With the advent of the INTERNET it opens up a whole new world. Through places such as “Touching The Hem of His Garment” not only can you study Gods Word but it also helps you keep pace with devotional and practical aspects of Disciple that are sometimes missing in an academic environment. Let me encourage you to become a student of the Master. Evangelism as we see from Christ life is not just assenting to a set of facts. It means being committed to HIM, and to some to continue teaching others. But whatever your case is God meant for us to grow through knowing Him. Will you think about it?
Questions it brought to my mind...
How and where do I fit into Gods Master Plan?
My closing prayer...
Father Thank you for the gifts you have given me. Please show me how and where to use them. Help me to develop these gifts by use and discernment. Help me to lead others to Christ and make Disciples not just converts. Help me do my part in advancing the Kingdom of God.
I ask this according to your will and Jesus name Amen.
