Lesson 2 of The God of The Bible

"He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."-Hebrews 11:6

Why wonder what a friend of God would tell us about Him?  Because, if you really want to know who someone is, you ask their friends!

In Lesson 1 of your God of the Bible Bible Study, we talked about how the essence of God is Love.  But, we have all heard the saying that actions speak louder than words.  And who knows someone's actions better than their friends?

Plus, if becoming God's friend is your ultimate goal, you should at least know what kind of relationship you have to look forward to, right?

So, what would friends of God in the Bible say if we could ask them one question: Who is God...Really?

A Friend of God Would Tell You...

He will reward you for seeking Him: "He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."-Hebrews 11:6

He will keep you safe from the enemy: "He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God."-Psalm 91:2

He is reliable and you can trust Him: "God is not a man, that He should lie...hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?-Numbers 23:19

He thinks about you and even makes plans for you: [As for me] I am poor and needy, yet the Lord takes thought and plans for me. You are my Help and my Deliverer. O my God, do not tarry! -Psalm 40:17(Amplified)

And, my personal favorite:
He is your Helper.

Reflect on These Promises From God's Word:

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
*My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
*He will not let your foot slip—
*He who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
*The LORD will keep you from all harm—
*He will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
-Psalm 121 (NIV)
